
European windstorm insured property, the biggest exposure in the industry database, has remained roughly unchanged during the 2017 January 1 renewals at around €54 trillion, according to natural catastrophe data provider PERILS.
Compared to 1 January 2016, the overall European windstorm sums insured decreased by -0.4 percent (+2.3 percent at constant FX rates). Year-on-year variations in Australia, Italy and Turkey ranged from +2 percent to +24 percent.
